A successful Book Launch: Reading & Signing event

There I was, on a cold winter day, on Saturday 12th February, 2022. I was feeling a huge excitement, as it was a big day for me...

I had prepared myself in every possible way: physically, mentally, spiritually, and logistically...

A month before the big day, I had asked the local library to lend me their space to do my first Book Launch event there. The owner was very supportive because he had also started from zero and was an advocate of giving opportunities to new people. I felt blessed for this!

When the day came, I woke up early feeling confident and with the certainty that the world got to know about this beautiful book I had created!

I went to the hairdressers, then got back home, had a quick breakfast and got myself dressed, as if I was going to a big fancy celebration -because I was!-.

I chose to wear an elegant red dress and high heels. It had been quite a long time since I had walked on high heels, but the occasion was so worthy, that I felt amazing!

Oh, yes! I was so in tune with my inner Goddess! I embodied that powerful, beautiful, loving, and giving woman that I am, and I was feeling connected and ready to receive all that my heart wished for.

And I did receive love, appreciation, support, flowers, chocolates and a bottle of prosecco as well!

The success of the day was translated into having the children fully engaged in the story and interacting with me! This filled my heart with joy! So much, that I had planned to do three readings and I ended up doing five in total, because there were children coming in all the time!

Also, I got to sign books for children, parents, grandparents and friends.

It was lovely to build new connections and to share with others about this passion of mine.

Now, my intuition tells me that this is just the beginning of an exciting and beautiful story as a writer of children's books.

Acnowledgements:

I specially acknowledge the tons of knowledge and kind support from John Pye, the owner of The Bookshop, for sharing his warm and cosy space with local authors and giving us the opportunity to have a nice start in our careers as independently published authors. Thanks!

And of course, this achievement would not have been possible without the amazing support from my talented artist Elys Rendón. Thank you for being all along the way with me!
