PLAYING A BIGGER GAME!

For many years, I have been playing small and hiding my talents, due to a number of reasons I don't relate with anymore.

The truth is that I have gained a great experience in life and this is part of me. I am not here to show off, but to let the world know that this Latin, divorced, single mother, not entitled to any public benefits, and no family around, has made her way to transform her life by standing courageously for her values and beliefs!

So, I am here to share a little bit about me, for those of you who only know me as "Abril's Mum".

  • I was in the academic field, performing as a University lecturer for over 10 years in my country, Venezuela. My Journalism background combined with a Master in Marketing and a Ph.D in Management Science, allowed me to also perform as a Marketing Manager in a number of companies.
  • Being an eager learner, I developed my passion for women's rights and for making informed choices when it comes to giving birth, after having had a traumatic birth experience and postnatal depression myself. This is why I became a certified Doula in 2017, which has allowed me to work alongside women during their pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods, to support them emotionally as they transition from birth to a family life.
  • As a mother of a young child with borderline ADHD and ASD, I understood the way how my daughter sees the world and thanks to her imagination and marvellous creativity, I felt inspired to write fun rhyming children's books that encourage a slow-paced childhood in tune with nature and imagination. • My Calling is to be a positive game changer and to inspire other women about what is possible for them: anything that their Soul desires! This led me to choose an alternative path of education for my daughter and to embark on a Transformational Leadership Training during the pandemic.
  • Now, I am using my powerful voice to teach female empowerment, to help women uncover their true potential, worth and confidence to create meaningful lives for themselves and their children, because I understand that the process of bringing up a new generation of critical thinkers starts at home, with the parents themselves.
